CACHE Level 2 Certificate in

An Introduction to Early Years Education & Care


The CACHE Level 2 Certificate in an Introduction to Early Years Education and Care prepares learners to work with children between birth and 5 years, with knowledge up to 7 years.  


This Certificate is delivered as an apprenticeship.


Upon achievement of this qualification, learners can progress onto the CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator).


Entry requirements

Learners must be at least 16 years old.



Learners will need to be working in paid employment within a setting that provides early years education and care.  



The qualification is delivered as a tutored programme which requires learners to attend workshops on a monthly basis.  Learners will be assessed by a qualified assessor who will assess competency in the workplace.  Knowledge will be assessed via the submission of written assignments.



The award takes approximately 15 months to complete, which includes all elements of the apprenticeship.



The programme is free to learners aged 16 - 18 years of age and may be free to those over 18. See key facts for
