
CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the
Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator)
The CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce (Early Years Educator) prepares learners to become Early Years Educators, enabling them to work with children from birth to 5 years and to gain knowledge of children aged 5 to 7 years.
This Diploma is delivered as an apprenticeship.
Upon achievement of this qualification it is intended that learners will be able to enter the workforce as Early Years Educators.
Entry requirements
Learners must be at least 16 years old. GCSE English and maths at grade C or above are an entry requirement for learners funded by the Skills Funding Agency. GCSE Englsih and maths at grade C or above are also a requirement for those holding Early Years Educator qualifcation to count in the staff-to-child ratios at Level 3.
Workplace
Learners will need to be working in paid employment within a setting that provides early years education and care.
Delivery
The qualification is delivered as a tutored programme which requires learners to attend workshops on a monthly basis. Learners will be assessed by a qualified assessor who will assess competency in the workplace. Knowledge will be assessed via the submission of written assignments.
Duration
The award takes approximately 18 - 24 months to complete, which includes all elements of the apprenticeship.
Cost
The programme is free to learners aged 16 - 18 years of age and may be free to those over 18 who are eligable for apprenticeship funding (refer to GCSE criteria above).
For learners who take the non-apprenticeship route (self-funded learners) a fee of £2700 will be charged (£2250 plus VAT at 20%).
